Pokemon Online, Part 2

By Gaius

Well, I guess it's time to discuss this abit further :)
Common Clauses

Take note: pwede parin ang defensive sleep moves like Rest.

Basically, Any move that may cause a tie cannot be used.

4.) Item Clause. This just means that no held items can be duplicate. Eto ang isa sa mga pinaka ayaw kong common clause- don't even bother to challenge me kung nka Item Clause kayo. Most of my teams have multiple Leftovers and Life Orbs :P

5.) Evasion Clause. Moves that solely increase your evasion and does nothing else cannot be used. So bawal ang Double Team and Minimize- I'm not sure why though, kasi andami namang paraan para tangalin or lusutan ang evasion boosts eh.

6.) OHKO Clause. Moves that does One-Hit Knock Out on an opposing Pokemon cannot be used. Medyo self-explanatory naman, OHKO moves rely on luck only, ang Pokemon Online is a game of skill, so almost every challenge have this rule.

Tiers

There are three Major Tiers: Dream World (DW), which includes pokemon, abilities and moves that has not yet been released by Nintendo. WiFi, the most common major tier, is composed of every legal Pokemon that can be used in a real WiFi battle. And the "Others" tier, which has special battles like 1v1, Monotype or the Unova Cup.

Dream World and WiFi is further divided into the following minor tiers:

1.) Uber Tier. The most powerful pokemon up to the weakest can be used here- Only Clause-banned moves (and pokemons with the Moody ability) cannot be used here.

2.) OU, or Overused Tier.

2.5) BL, or Borderline. Nandito ang mga pokemon na banned sa Underused, which is a common tier, pero pwede sa Overused, which is another common tier. I don't think there are players that actually play BL.

3.) UU, or Underused Tier. Most ng mga common non-uber but powerful pokemon are banned here. Just take a look at the above lineup- kaya kong palitan ang bawat isa dyan ng better alternative kung nasa OU Tier tayo.

3.5) BL2, or Borderline 2. Same as BL, except banned in Lesserused but usable in Underused.

4.) LU, or Lesserused Tier (Also called RU, or Rarelyused). With almost every top tier pokemon, it is quite challenging to create a team on this tier- but very fun too.

4.5) BL3, or Borderline 3. Same as BL & BL2: banned in Neverused but usable in Lesserused.

5.) NU, or Neverused Tier. This tier is very volatile, in fact, the metagame changes almost every month. But on this tier, you'll begin seeing unevolved versions of pokemon being used. To be honest, I have not tried battling in this tier.

Stay tuned for part 3: Pokemon Team Analysis! :P
